<p>WLOS, the ABC affiliate, (36th ADI) located in Asheville,  NC is looking for a creative multi-media producer and leader.</p>
<p>You will need a degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field and 3 years line producing experience at a commercial TV station. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Solid news judgment and ability to multi-task is essential. You should be calm under pressure and have experience with breaking news and live shots. This position places heavy emphasis on web, mobile and social media. The ideal candidate would be social media and tech savvy. In addition to line producing responsibilities, you would also help drive our digital platform and focus on multi-media content, coordinating with news, promotions and sales.</p>

<dd id="jobDesciptionDiv">The Audio Production Specialist I position exists to perform highly diversified functions in two of these areas: production of the Daily Radio broadcast ready for distribution, and responsibility for the entire recording process, production and distribution for one of the following audio projects: Young Family Audio Journal, Daily and Short Form Projects, or Weekend Magazine.  This position requires occasional supervision and refers only specific, unusual problems to supervisor.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Essential Duties/Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p>Utilizes production skills to perform rough, time, and final editing of broadcast projects to predetermined length using Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstation</p>
<p>Mixes music and performs other techniques to improve sound quality (e.g., equalization, compression, matching new and old material seamlessly)</p>
<p>Prepares final audio projects for archival purposes for future use</p>
<p>Ensures technical quality of broadcast projects</p>
<p>Reviews final versions of audio prior to distribution for content, audio quality, and any copyright or legal issues</p>

The Media and Technical Specialist will act as the audio and video technician, editor, and graphics for our various ministry areas, including: TV, radio, and website. <p>Job Purpose:<br />
The main responsibilities for the Media and Technical Specialist are to: a) assist in production of weekly 30 minute TV programs in our TV studio (shooting, lighting, voice, editing, inserts, etc…), b) produce one minute radio program in our studio, c) troubleshoot technical concerns with studio and office equipment, d) maintain and update our website.</p>
<p>Duties:<br />
1. Installs, tests and commissions new technology and cabling<br />
2. Creates, maintains and updates video/audio library and backups<br />
3. Operate controls and monitors the quality and accuracy of the on-air and<br />
recorded product<br />
4. Manage multi-camera operations in the control room during program<br />
shooting<br />
5. Ensure the transmission meets all technical and content government<br />
regulations<br />
6. Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions for studio and ministry<br />
office<br />
7. Work with 3rd party technical support, where necessary, to resolve issues<br />
8. Prepare, edit programming for future playback<br />
9. Record, edit and produce one minute radio program<br />
10. Accompany team for on-location shoots for festivals or special events</p>
<p>Skills/Qualifications:<br />
1. Capable of submitting to authority and also works well in a team<br />
environment<br />
2. Experience in working with technical aspects and software for recording<br />
and editing TV/Radio programs<br />
3. Strong troubleshooting skills<br />
4. Works well in high pressure situations and is capable of using spares and<br />
alternate equipment to quickly resolve problems<br />
5. College degree or equivalent experience in television/radio broadcast<br />
and/or electronics</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2>Assistant Professor of Communication</h2>
<p>-Responsibilities include teaching courses at both the undergraduate and<br />
graduate (Master&#8217;s) level, advising undergraduate and graduate students as<br />
well as service-related duties at the department, college, and university<br />
levels.  Tenure-Track faculty are required to maintain an active<br />
professional portfolio as part of the probationary process.</p>
<p>-Basic qualifications: Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. in<br />
Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, or other related area by the time<br />
of appointment. The ideal candidate will have research interests in media<br />
studies and teaching experience in broadcast journalism, media law,<br />
convergent technologies, new media, and communication research methods. The course load for this position is four courses per semester.</p>
